Hillside First School

Volunteers

We welcome volunteers and work experience students at Hillside First School to support our children.  Volunteering is a rewarding experience and benefits the whole school community.

People choose to volunteer for a variety of reasons:

  • For many, it offers opportunities to give something back to the community.
  • For some, it may provide an opportunity to develop new skills.
  • For others, it is a requirement of a course.

Volunteers help with a variety of activities, such as listening to children read, helping in the classroom, at fundraising events or assisting educational visits.

How to apply

If you would like to help regularly or occasionally, please express your interest by emailing the school office at office@hillsidefirstschool.org.  You will then need to complete an application form and provide two character references.  You can download a paper copy of the application form below or complete the online form here.

Volunteers who regularly help in school or on educational visits, will be checked by the DBS (The Disclosure and Barring Service).   Please visit the school to submit 2 forms of ID (e.g. passport and birth certificate) and a proof of address (e.g. utility bill).

Students who want to apply for a work experience placement need to email the school office at office@hillsidefirstschool.org
